A new office in inspiring surroundings

The first three months of 2020 were all about setting off by tearing down. Within a few weeks, the event room of Kreativfabrik 62 became our new workspace.

This post is from 2020 and tells the story of converting what was then our office at Länggasse 3 in Oberkirch, in the coworking space of Kreativfabrik 62. Since the summer of 2025 we have been working in Sursee; the road there is described in the post Our new home.

Off to Oberkirch!

During the conversion, walls were torn out and replaced with new glass ones. A room intended for events became one in which people could work side by side in concentration.

A creative zone at the centre

At the heart of the office was a creative zone with an acoustic curtain, a multimedia screen and mobile whiteboards. A lounge, workstations with standing desks, a coordinated lighting concept and wallpapers showing Lake Sempach and the Triechter in Sursee created an ideal working atmosphere.

The acoustic curtain was more than decoration: drawn across, a curtain like that dampens sound. That is necessary when discussion and concentrated work happen at the same time in an open space.

Moving in in the middle of lockdown

In the middle of the coronavirus lockdown we completed the conversion work on schedule and were able to move into our new office step by step from our home offices. From the end of April 2020 we worked at Länggasse 3. Moving in without an opening, then — the celebration had to wait.

The Open Day: guests in the building at last

We made up for it on 16 October 2020 at the xappido Open Day, a little delayed by the pandemic but properly done. We were delighted to be able to show our new premises at last to our clients, our partners, our friends and everyone else who was interested.

An office only really shows itself once people are standing in it: at the standing tables between the concrete columns, in front of the screen showing the reference film, over the apéro. We were glad you were there.

Thank you to everyone who helped build it

Many warm thanks to everyone who contributed to the conversion of our new office. Special thanks are due to Bruno and Thomas, who coordinated the conversion and fit-out flawlessly on the client side. Thank you as well to the companies that supported, supplied and accompanied us during the three-month conversion.

And an enormous thank you to our neighbours for their understanding and flexibility regarding the noise and dust of the building work.

Five years at Länggasse

This office was our workplace for around five years. The National Future Days from 2021 to 2024 took place here, and it was here that in 2024, on the anniversary of the company’s founding, the team organised a surprise party for the three founders to mark ten years.
