Less stress thanks to a second brain

To stay organised in the digital age, our software developer Lorena relies on the “second brain” concept.

The “second brain” is a concept built on creating an external system for storing and processing information. It is a method for organising and storing all the information and thoughts we encounter each day in an efficient way — for giving our digital lives a structure, so to speak.

What is a second brain for?

The main aim of the second brain is to help us manage information, organise it and access it creatively. It is not a physical brain, but a digital system made up of various tools and platforms that help us store and categorise information.

Which tools are part of it

A second brain can consist of a range of tools: notes apps, digital calendars, task lists and much more. The point is not to use one particular tool, but to shape the system so that it fits the way you live and work.

Putting a second brain in place in your life can bring many benefits. It can help you organise your thoughts and ideas, remember important information and be more creative.

No substitute for thinking for yourself

It is important to note that the second brain is not a substitute for the human brain, but a tool that helps us work and learn more efficiently. It is not about automating everything, but about creating an environment in which we can concentrate on what really matters.

In today’s information society the second brain can be an indispensable tool. It is a way of coping with the flood of information while increasing our creativity and productivity at the same time.

My second brain runs on Notion

Notion has established itself as the platform for my second brain and has therefore become an essential part of my working and private life. All the documentation, websites, goals and thoughts I come across or have collected are stored there. Because I know exactly where and how everything is filed, it lets me work far more freely. It helps me in my personal life too, as it increases my productivity considerably. I can also track my progress at any time and see what I still have to do to reach my goals. With my second, digital brain in use, my days are less stressful, more efficient and more productive.
