National Future Day 2025 at xappido – a day of curiosity, code and robotics

On National Future Day 2025 (the Swiss day on which school students spend a working day with an adult), everything at xappido revolved around the next generation of developers, tech talents and creative minds. Eight school students spent a day with our team and dived straight into our world of software development, robotics and digital innovation.

First steps in coding: playing with Logo

After a short introduction to the xappido universe, the young people went straight to their first steps in programming. Using the programming languages XLogo and Scratch, they were able to try out how code works, how to link commands logically, and how a few lines turn into small visual results. You could feel the fascination straight away – and the pride in their first programs of their own just as much.

Technology you can touch: our robots spark enthusiasm

One highlight of the day: the live demonstration of our line-up of robots. The school students were not only allowed to watch, but also to interact with the robots, ask questions and experience for themselves how software and mechanics work together. For many it was the first time they had seen an autonomous robot at such close range, and the amazement showed.

Team spirit and pizza: lunch together

Over pizza together, the school students got to know our team in a relaxed atmosphere. Many used the opportunity to ask questions about our work: how does software actually get made in a team? What do developers do day to day? And how do you get into the tech industry in the first place?

The exchange was open and curious, and showed how strong the interest in digital professions already is at a young age.

A look behind the scenes – and perhaps into the future

Between programming, trying out technology and talking to our team, the school students got an authentic look at our working day. Many quickly noticed that software development is much more than code! It is teamwork, creativity, logic, curiosity and the pleasure of building solutions that make life better.

Every year, Future Day shows how important it is to open doors to the tech world for young people. We hope we were able to pass on some inspiration that day – and perhaps we motivated one or two of them to shape their own future in the world of software one day as well.
