Digital business analysis for companies in Central Switzerland

The ITZ BusinessCompass gives SMEs and start-ups a free, low-threshold way into business analysis: answer the questions and within a few minutes you see where your own company stands in the market – along with concrete starting points for improving.

The starting point

ITZ InnovationsTransfer Zentralschweiz set out to strengthen the region’s competitiveness and to support SMEs and start-ups in a targeted way. That called for low-threshold access to business analysis – free of charge, easy to understand and without major hurdles.

The portal was to let entrepreneurs work through categories of questions from different areas such as business model, marketing or innovation, and derive from them a meaningful assessment of where they stand.

The solution

As solution partner, xappido guided the ITZ BusinessCompass from A to Z. It began with a Design Sprint that produced a prototype; the implementation of the mockups and the requirements engineering followed. In development, xappido Nova Core, the portal core, formed the basis. Many functions could be adopted directly, so the project moved quickly and built on solutions that were already established. Back end and front end were built in full – with particular attention to making the platform easy to use on tablets and smartphones as well.

For users, the heart of it is the evaluation: the answers produce a spider diagram that makes the company’s position in the market visible. It is complemented by an individual written assessment with concrete recommendations on how the company can develop further in each area.

The result

The ITZ BusinessCompass launched successfully and is available to SMEs and start-ups in Central Switzerland free of charge. Despite a tight schedule the deadline was met – thanks to close, continuous coordination: project lead Loredana was in constant exchange with ITZ throughout the process.

The portal gives companies in the heart of Switzerland a tool that moves them forward in digitalisation and innovation – and strengthens the competitiveness of the whole region.
